DRIVING MODES EV In EV mode, the GS is silent, consumes no fuel and emits zero CO2. DRIVING MODES ECO In ECO mode, engine output and gear selection is smartly adjusted to improve fuel efficiency. DRIVING MODES SPORT S+ SPORT S+ Mode adjusts the suspension and electric power steering, resulting in stronger acceleration and sharper handling.
HYBRID LEXUS WERE THE PIONEERS OF HYBRID TECHNOLOGY. WE'VE BEEN CONSISTENTLY IMPROVING IT EVER SINCE. WITH EACH IMPROVEMENT, WE TRY TO TAKE LESS FROM THE WORLD AROUND US, WHILST GIVING MORE BACK TO THE DRIVER. HYBRID MORE FIRE, LESS FUEL For the first time, we've been able to combine the power and efficiency of a V6 Atkinson cycle engine with our Hybrid technology. The result is a 30% reduction in fuel consumption, whilst converting combustion energy to engine power more effectively. HYBRID RESOURCEFULNESS The GS 450h intelligently recycles kinetic energy that is normally lost, and reuses it when it's needed later on. HYBRID PERFORMANCE 340 Horsepower. 0-60 in 5 seconds. The 3.5ltr V6 engine combined with a high-output permanent-magnet electric motor delivers more power than a Mercedes or BMW.
COLOUR IF YOU SCRATCH BELOW THE SURFACE, YOU'LL FIND NEW ANSWERS. LIKE A PAINT THAT NOT ONLY MAKES A CAR LOOK MORE BEAUTIFUL, BUT PROTECTS IT TOO. COLOUR GLOSS First, we apply six separate layers of paint. Then we wet-sand the entire car by hand before applying the final coat. It's a complicated process but the result is an unparalleled and vibrant finish. COLOUR PROTECTION We've worked tirelessly to create a topcoat of paint with more density and elasticity. This causes it to re-bond when small scratches occur. Not only is our paint now more resistant to everyday surface scratches, it can also heal them too.
EYE-SPY NO MATTER HOW ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY BECOMES, WE HAVE FOUND IT CANNOT SOLVE EVERY PROBLEM. THAT'S WHY WE HAVE SPECIALLY-TRAINED TECHNICIANS WHO LOOK FOR MINUTE PAINT IMPERFECTIONS THAT ONLY THE HUMAN EYE CAN DETECT. IT'S GOOD TO KNOW US HUMANS STILL HAVE A ROLE TO PLAY. COMFY IF YOU'RE GOING TO DRIVE A MILLION MILES, COMFORT IS ESSENTIAL. COMFY ADJUSTABLE SEATS The front-seats in the new GS are nothing short of an ergonomic masterpiece. They offer 18 different types of customization, including shoulder support, butterfly headrests and variable seat-cushion length.
ARCHES AT LEXUS, EVEN THE MINUTEST DETAILS MATTER. WE SHAVED THE WHEEL ARCHES OF THE NEW GS BY JUST 1000TH OF A MILLIMETER, IMPROVING AIRFLOW AND ENHANCING RESPONSIVENESS.
CRAFTSMANSHIP WE VALUE HAND-MADE OVER MASS-PRODUCED. IT'S MORE TIME CONSUMING, BUT IT'S THE ONLY WAY WE CAN OBTAIN THE IMMACULATE LEVEL OF FINISH, AND AMAZING ATTENTION-TO-DETAIL LEXUS IS RENOWNED FOR. CRAFTSMANSHIP ONE TREE To ensure every individual piece of wood inside a GS has the same matching grain pattern, we source and use the wood from one single tree.
VISION WE'VE PUT MORE EYES ON THE ROAD. BECAUSE THE MORE YOU CAN SEE, THE SAFER YOU ARE. VISION INFRARED The Lexus GS Night View displays an image of the road up to 200 meters ahead, helping you see obstacles much sooner. VISION RADAR The Blind Spot Monitor uses radar devices mounted on the corners of the rear bumper to detect overtaking vehicles in adjacent lanes. VISION CAMERA Lane-Keep Assist uses an on-board camera to cleverly detect road lane markings, and help keep the driver from drifting off-course.

TIRELESS WE WORKED DAY AND NIGHT TO CREATE TECHNOLOGY THAT CAN HELP PREVENT AN ACCIDENT BEFORE IT HAPPENS. TIRELESS BLINK The GS pre-crash system not only monitors the road ahead for oncoming vehicles, it also detects when your eyes are closed for too long and alerts you.
CORNERS WE DON'T CUT CORNERS. INSTEAD WE PREFER TO GO THE LONG WAY ROUND. IT'S THIS PHILOSOPHY THAT HAS HELPED US DISCOVER NEW WAYS TO MAKE THE GS OUR MOST REWARDING DRIVE YET. CORNERS RESPONSIVE We tested steering and agility on some of the most demanding roads possible. Including the German Autobahn. It helped us to develop the new Lexus Dynamic Handling system, which enables the GS to handle any corner effortlessly.
SMOOTH NO JOURNEY SHOULD FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. NO MATTER HOW LONG. SO WE TESTED THE GS ON EVERY TYPE OF SURFACE IMAGINABLE TO MAKE SURE EVERY MILE FEELS SMOOTHER. SMOOTH GLIDE The GS has been crafted to give an outstandingly stable drive. Even on the tightest corners. A lighter front and rear suspension system, made from aluminium, reduces shock and improves steering.
TOUCH TRULY AMAZING CRAFTSMANSHIP CAN ONLY BE ACHIEVED BY HAND. TOUCH FEEL Using touch alone, our master craftsman can recognise even the smallest imperfection on an engine or body part and have it corrected before it hits the assembly line. A skill that can take up to 20 years to master.
DUST TO MAKE SURE EVERY SINGLE GS IS ABSOLUTELY FAULTLESS, WE BUILD ALL OF THEM IN A TOTALLY DUST-FREE ENVIRONMENT. IN FACT, THE GS IS MADE IN ONE OF THE CLEANEST FACTORIES ON THE PLANET. DUST SPOTLESS Every person, and every part that goes inside our factory, passes through a wind shower to remove any unwanted particles. We've even installed walls with water running down them to capture stray particles in the atmosphere.
CLIMATE WE CANNOT CONTROL THE WEATHER, BUT WE BELIEVE YOU SHOULD HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL OF THE CLIMATE YOU DRIVE IN. CLIMATE REFRESHING The new GS climate control system not only detects the temperature of the passenger cabin, but also the number of passengers inside the car. As a result, it only air conditions seats that are occupied, saving almost 3% in fuel. CLIMATE MOISTURE We've introduced Nanoe technology into the GS air-flow system that moisturizes your skin as you drive. So you can arrive at every destination feeling more refreshed.
SOUND WE BELIEVE A CAR SHOULD APPEAL TO ALL YOUR SENSES. THAT'S WHY, WHEN YOU SIT INSIDE THE GS, EVERY SOUND YOU HEAR IS AMAZING. SOUND POWER The new Mark Levinson audio system inside the GS produces an impressive 835 watts. Twice as many watts per channel compared to the previous generation's system. SOUND ACOUSTICS Our engineers spent over 2000 hours meticulously positioning all 17 speakers inside the GS to create a 360degree, concert-hall experience. SOUND SPEAKERS Our lightweight speakers produce less heat. As a result, not only is the sound quality cleaner, fuel consumption is reduced by up to 3%.
SPARKLE NOTHING MAKES A CAR LOOK MORE ATTRACTIVE THAN THE WAY IT SHINES. SO WE DIDN'T STOP UNTIL WE FOUND A WAY TO MAKE THE GS LOOK AMAZING NO MATTER WHAT TIME, OR TYPE OF DAY. SPARKLE LIGHT The first layer of paint we apply contains large aluminium flakes. These flakes sparkle even under the harshest sunlight. SPARKLE SHADOW For the next layer, we use paint with smaller aluminium flakes. So now the GS looks amazing under shade and cloudy skies too.
NAVIGATION GO TO SOMEWHERE COMPLETELY NEW, WITHOUT EVER GETTING LOST. NAVIGATION BIG SCREEN The multimedia navigation screen in the new GS is over a foot wide. That's the biggest you'll find inside any car in the world. NAVIGATION SHARP The GS multimedia system has more high-definition graphics than the average TV, and allows the driver to simultaneously view navigation and adjust controls with ease.
SNOW COME RAIN OR SHINE, SLEET OR SNOW. WE DON'T STOP UNTIL WE CREATE AMAZING. SNOW GRIP We've even created a snow mode that slows accelerator-pedal response in the GS to help reduce the possibility of wheel spin.
