LEXUS INTRODUCES GS 300h AT SHANGHAI MOTOR SHOW

GS range expanded with all-new GS 300h featuring highly efficient full hybrid powertrain to compete at the heart of its segment.

2.5 litre 4-cylinder engine with fuel consumption targeted below 5 litres resulting in class-leading CO2 emissions of below 110g/km.

Shanghai, China, 20th April 2013 – Today Lexus unveiled the all-new GS 300h. Thanks to its outstanding environmental performance and its engine displacement positioned right at the heart of its segment (*), the new GS 300h will play a key role in expanding Lexus’ segment share, with a special focus on corporate fleets. The new GS 300h will be launched by the end of 2013 in various global markets, including China, Europe, Asian countries, Australia and New Zealand.

The GS 300h is a front engine rear-wheel drive premium sedan equipped with a two-motor full hybrid system featuring a 2.5l 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine with a D-4S direct injection technology. With CO2 emissions targeted at below 110g/km, this powertrain is one of the most efficient in its class.

The Lexus GS range now includes the GS 300h, the GS 450h, the GS 250, the GS 350 and the GS 350 AWD. Launched in the spring of 2012, the model’s total global sales achieved 47,787 units last year, almost 6 times more than in 2011.
