A millimetre-wave radar sweeps the road ahead detecting certain obstacles and constantly calculates impact risk. If there is a high risk, PCS provides an audible and visual warning and engages Pre-Crash Brake Assist and adjusts the Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) to improve braking response and reduce the risk of nose-dive.
If a collision is deemed unavoidable, PCS engages additional safety systems to help reduce impact force and help reduce the risk of injury. Pre-Crash Brake can automatically apply the brakes prior to impact, whilst Pre-Crash Seat belt technology can automatically tighten the front seatbelts.
