‘F’ is the new designation reserved for Lexus cars of ultra-high performance. IS F is the first.
Japan’s iconic Fuji Speedway is where the IS F was developed and tested and is what gives the ‘F’ to the F-marque. The ‘F’ logo itself integrates the most demanding corners from the racetrack in its design.
Situated in the foothills of Mount Fuji in Japan’s Shizuoka Prefecture, Fuji Speedway first opened as a road course in 1966. Ten years later the track hosted the first Formula 1 event ever held in Japan.
In September 2007, after a major reconfiguration, Fuji Speedway once again hosted the Japanese Grand Prix. The circuit includes the longest straight (1.5 km) in the Formula 1 Season where extremely high speeds can be attained.
