INTELLIGENT PARKING ASSIST

Intelligent parking assist can help you enter series or parallel parking spaces. The system uses side sensors, one mounted each side of the front bumper, and a rear camera to display the view behind the car on the interior touch-screen. By driving slowly past a potential parking space, the sensors detect the amount of space available. The driver then stops just beyond the space and selects reverse gear. The control unit calculates if there is sufficient space and, if so, the parking trajectory and required steering angle. The target space then appears on the display screen. Once the driver confirms the space and releases the brake pedal the LS then begins reversing into the target position. The system automatically controls the steering and the driver is responsible for controlling the car’s speed and bringing the LS to a complete stop. Please note: Intelligent parking assist is available as a cost option for LS models.
