The new IS prepares a unique Japanese ‘Omotenashi’ welcome even before you get behind the wheel. As you approach the car, you’re greeted by orchestral illumination and once inside, the driver’s seat and steering wheel adjust to your personal settings.
Whilst driving, you’ll sense the soft knee upholstery and leather palm rest while, at night, inner door handle lights dim to soothe your eyes.
The new IS sports sedan is equipped with a large 10.3-inch multimedia screen, Lexus Premium Navigation and Driver Support Systems. As well as guiding you effortlessly to your next meeting, the Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Road Sign Assist takes the stress out of city driving.
And once you’ve finished work, you can use voice control to book a restaurant or enjoy your favourite music on the world class 15-speaker Mark Levinson® Premium Surround system.
Before starting work on the new IS, our designers travelled the world, interviewing customers and seeking inspiration. After months of sketching, we were ready to model the new car.
We’ve kept its athletic stance but given the new IS a more confident look. In fact, it’s the most distinctive IS ever.
Our engineers spent months improving the car’s steering and suspension, experimenting with lighter and more refined components.
After aerodynamic testing at our huge wind tunnel in Japan, the IS prototype was given to Yoshiaki Ito, a Lexus ‘Master Driver’ who tunes cars like a virtuoso would a musical instrument. And he didn’t rest until he’d achieved the perfect balance between road and vehicle.
The Lexus Safety System+ uses millimetre-wave radar and a camera to detect danger ahead. It includes a Pre-Crash System with pedestrian detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Automatic High Beam for enhanced night vision and Adaptive Cruise Control, which regulates your speed to match the vehicle in front.
Eight airbags protect you in a collision, and if you collide with a pedestrian, sensors instantly raise the bonnet to help reduce injuries.
Thanks to its 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine, the new IS 200t sports sedan provides 245 DIN hp of dynamic power and delivers rapid acceleration of up to 230 km/h (where permitted). We put this car through a gruelling development programme, including high altitude testing in the Rocky Mountains and a boot camp for engines in Japan, where we simulated extreme temperatures of up to 45°C.
The IS 200t underwent 20 thermal testing cycles to ensure it will perform for many years in the world’s most demanding conditions.
Intelligently combining an advanced 2.5-litre direct-injection petrol engine with a high-output electric motor, the IS 300h is one of the most efficient sports sedans available today.
It’s dynamic to drive, yet only consumes 4.2l/100km* of fuel and emits just 97g/km* of CO2. For city driving, you can select EV (Electric Vehicle) mode, which uses no petrol and creates zero emissions.

The new IS 300h F SPORT and IS 200t F SPORT models are bolder than ever before. Featuring an exclusive dark F-mesh grille, 18-inch alloys and ‘Dark Rose’ leather sports seats, behind the wheel you’re greeted by amazing LFA-style instruments.
First seen on the GS F high performance sedan, and inspired by ancient Japanese craftsmanship, Naguri-style inlays join aluminium pedals to complete the interior. And with steering tuned by Lexus ‘Master Drivers’, both IS F SPORT models deliver new levels of driving enjoyment.
